I first came to Sarah after struggling with postnatal depression, I knew I enjoyed baking and decorating cakes but had no idea I was actually any good at it.

I had no intention of opening a business all those years ago but after my second or third class i had so much more confidence in my abilities and took the plunge. My business is now often fully booked months in advance and I’m creating cakes I never thought possible.

I have always felt as though I could come back and chat after any classes if I needed.

My business is now as successful as I can allow it to be with two small kids at home, but I believe I could grow more when I’m ready with the confidence gained I am pleased that I have worked with Sarah. I have a lot more confidence.

I joined the programme because I just didn’t know where to start! I can bake and decorate well, but the business side was a complete minefield. My pricing was off, I didn’t have a Facebook business page to advertise from and the whole process daunted me so much. I knew that by joining I could learn so much more.

It has given me the fundamental tools to get my business up and running with confidence and at my pace. Everyone is in the same boat, so we were all so supportive of each other. No question is too silly and it really feels like we are a family. Sarah is a fantastic mentor; I really appreciate her straight-to-the-point attitude and am so glad to have found her.

I was in awe of other bakers and their large followings on social media, I thought this is what I needed to become a success baker. I learnt that big numbers are not as important as valued customers. Too many followers can crowd the shop window and not let potential customers see the good.

Being quite a shy person and not ever really posting on social media in fear of boring people, it was a scary concept to show the real me, but doing so has really helped my confidence, and I am now not so afraid of posting regularly, which has helped my business grow.

The weekly classes and Facebook support group have really helped me. The programmee taught me, not only about my baking business, but about myself too. I’ve grown in confidence, in both baking and in my day-to-day life and I cannot thank Sarah and the group enough for constant support and guidance.
